Meet Founding Partner, Attorney Kateem T. Ellis

 

 

Kateem earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Political Science, from the University of North Florida before earning his Juris Doctor from Florida A&M University College of Law. He began his legal career at Morgan & Morgan, where he represented individuals injured through the negligence of others and developed the skills to take on insurance companies and large corporations. While the experience provided an invaluable foundation, Kateem saw an opportunity to build something different. He founded Ellis Legal Group to provide clients with the personal attention, accessibility, and commitment that are often difficult to find at larger firms.

As a first generation Jamaican American, Kateem understands the value of hard work, resilience, and staying true to your word. Those principles shape every aspect of his practice. Whether negotiating a settlement or preparing a case for trial, he is committed to fighting for the compensation his clients deserve while treating every client with the respect and care they would expect from family.

Beyond his legal practice, Kateem is committed to serving the legal profession and his community. He currently serves as Treasurer of the Paul C. Perkins Bar Association and was selected as a member of the Association's inaugural Young Lawyers Academy. Through these leadership roles, he continues to support the advancement of the legal profession while mentoring and advocating for the next generation of attorneys.

Originally born in Manhattan, New York, Kateem has spent most of his life in Florida and is proud to serve the communities he calls home. Outside the office, he enjoys playing basketball, watching football, and spending time with his wife and family.
